The plantations we see when we walk at the area

kampong houses there
----------------------------
Firstly when we went there, we had our walk to the waterfall. We feel that many of us have taken for granted the easy transport in Singapore.
Secondly, we played the traditional music, where we learnt to play new instruments.
Thirdly, we had games, where we play the coconut bowling and we also play the other game that requires teamwork. Even with simple items, people at the kampung are able to make do and make their own games. Like the coconut bowling where they use only coconuts and cans only. Using imaginations and creativity, they are able to make their own entertainment.

Third day of LJ

Well, this is to add on to what Poorani has posted. Mainly, for the third day of the Negri Sembilan LJ, we spent a lot of money whether it is in Jusco or at the shop in Yong Peng. Anyway, I agree with Poorani that we managed to bond as a class during the LJ especially during the bus rides when everyone would take photos together, sleep and...Oh! Share ghost stories! Eeek! So scary! Should see the look on everyone's face. I am sure that through this LJ, we have learnt not to take Singapore and what we have for granted. Also, we have gained experience in the kampong life in Kampong Pelegong like the different plantations: rubber, guava and palm and activities: plate dancing, kampong games, craft making and instrument playing.
DAY 3!!!
Here is a summary of what we did on day 3!
We woke up all ready to get back to singapore soon after which, we went down for breakfast. Then, we came back up, packed our bags and made sure that everything was cleared from the rooms then, we left the hotel. we waited in the lobby till our buses came. After loading our bags into the bus, we got on to start our journey to the checkpoint, not including all the stops we made.

After a very scenic 2 hours where we saw many plantations such as rubber, palm oil and many other plantations, we reached a shop selling some delicacies. they had things ranging from wife and husband cake or cookies.. to honey lemon drinks. They also sold fresh fruits right outside the shop, fresh pineapples and guavas. Then, we got back onto the bus where half of us blasted music into our own ears, some listened ot music and the rest did both. after a while, we made a quick stop to collect the fish and prawn otah that some of us had ordered, fresh and COLD!!!

After that, we only had one more stop before we went to the checkpoint.. SHOPPING! One of the most interesting stops but.. i shall not elaborate, we had a few hours to eat and shop till we dropped though a few of us were sighted stoning outside a doughnut shop. Staring into thin air for roughly about 20 minutes. Not all of us enjoy shopping but this was very enjoyable.

At the checkpoint.. "YAY! THERE IS SIGNAL!" many if us saw that we were getting signal. Not long after, we reached school. Everyone was exhausted and many of us were waiting at the foyer for our parents to fetch us.

It was a very enjoyable trip. We managed to bond as a class and do funny things together. Many of us learnt that being friends with someone is one thing but rooming with them is a completely different matter! Nevertheless, it was enjoyable and we learnt many things. We learnt to appreciate Singapore more!

Malaysia LJ second day~

POSTED BY SAMANTHA~

2nd Day

No pictures, cause I'm too lazy to upload, but briefly what we did on 2nd day of the M'sia LJ(:

Woke up at 7.30 for me Esabel and Charmian, then headed to breakfast at round 8. The rest were coming up by then, cause they woke at 7. So i have to admit we were a bunch of sleepy heads.

After the breakfast(includes cereal, hot dogs, scrambled eggs and half boiled eggs), we sat on the bus for approx. 15 minutes till we reached Kampong Pelegong. (; We had to get down at one village and then walk all the way to the Kampong itself. Unfortunately, we had to take the long way round, which Mr Chai and some people thought we were lost...

Anyway, we saw cow dung on the way there, therefore I can CONCLUDE that cows are about. And predictably we saw a lot of cows right up in front.

Ok after that, we trekked all the way to the waterfall, where some people took a dip in the pool. Then we walked back after about 30-50 minutes.

After that we continued with out activities. We played the malay musical instrument, and then did inter-class games with one other class(im not sure). We had coconut bowling, and the stick thingy that 4 people had to walk on. As in walk with it together. We had loads of fun. :D

After all this was lunch. Was yummy, rice, veggie and curry chicken(?). After that many people went to play on the swing at the playground. And Zhi Yi and Kapeela set up business on the $10 crazy ride machine thing. We slacked for about 3 hours, as an activity to trek somewhere else was cancelled. Many went into the air-conditioned room, but had to stay quiet, so they went in there to listen to music or just to simply enjoy air-con. After that we had dinner.

After everything, we went back to out hotel. Before lights-out, many were party-ing as it was the last night we were going to have at that hotel. Then we slept.

yeah, thats about it, and the next day is not my story to tell. (: Pictures next time!!! ;D

DAY 3 (:

Reflections for day 3.

Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic. It consisted of highly delectable food and was quickly snapped up.

Then we went to a local shop to buys things back for our parents and relatives. There were special cookies and tea sold as a local product. Even though the prices were abit higher than expected but we thought that it was worth it as it was for our parents.

After that, we went to a local shopping mall named JUSCO and shopped there for about 3 hours.

Spending 3 hours in the malaysia shopping centre, I discovered the pros and cons of the shopping centre. Th pros? They had immaculate service there, friendly staffs with genuine smiles and they do not hover. In this way, we felt alot more comfortable shopping for stuff and had a plesant time there. However, there were a lack of signs in the centre and there was quite a number of dead ends, for tourists like us, we wasted quite alot of time finding our way around. There was also a lack of variety and liveliness in the mall which usually creates a vibrasnt atmosphere which is apparent in many prestigious shopping malls. The products in the mall were also cheaper compared to Singapore but there was hardly anything that could attract us, as there was a lack of variety to choose from and it was rare to find trendy things. Thus, most of us went back empty handed. Yet, this did not dampen our lively sprits. Thought we enjoyed this learning journey, we were slightly disappointed by the lack o shopping materials. Good retail therapy results from abundant variety, and there was a lack of that in the mall. Other than that, the time spent shopping with fun shopping partners and friends was hardly boring. It was brilliant, fantastic and awesome. (:
